Tipping points in our climate system can cause rapid, irreversible shifts. Some of these critical thresholds have already been crossed.
Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, published a crucial ‘Climate Change Risk Assessment’ in 2021, warning of cascading climate risk. It barely made the papers let alone the front pages.
Professional bodies such as the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries are making increasingly stark warnings about systemic impacts in the decades ahead, ranging from “catastrophic economic contraction to mass mortality, widespread migration, and socio-political breakdowns”
